Exposing Your Ref Links

All of these internet income ideas are fruitless and overly time consuming if you try to complete them by yourself. The key to making money from these services is to build a downline, as I've said many times before, because the more referrals you have the more money that will be earned by you daily. On freebie sites a referral gets you one step closer to that sought after gift, on a PTC site that referral is getting you a little bit more cash every day (it adds up quickly!), and on WF3D that referral will help you earn more cash through their active referring.

Your probably asking yourself, "How can I get my link out there for people to notice?" Well there are many options for you to do this which I will cover in this post.

Traffic Exchanges

Traffic exchanges are probably the easiest way to get views of the site you are trying to refer people to. To get a good pay-off from these sites, however, you will need to put in some time as you must earn credits to spend on your site to have it shown to other members who are surfing. There are 3 traffic exchanges I use regularly, EasyHits4U, Traffic Era, and Traffic-Splash (listed in order of preference). Essentially all you do is sign up, enter your referral URL as your site to promote, surf other people's sites through the Traffic Exchanges interface, and then assign credits to your site so it will be viewed. There's an inherent problem with this type of service though. Most people are just surfing so their site will be viewed and are not interested in other people's sites. Your target, however, is that group that might see your page and think "That is interesting, I'll give it a shot." and to get your page to those people you need to advertise in volume. The more time your site gets viewed the more chances you have to reach that one person. Sure it can take some time, but it does pay off in the long run.

Youtube Videos

Youtube is a great way to advertise a freebie site or a PTC site because it allows you to show the prospective referral exactly what they're getting themselves in to. This means you'll have less inactive referrals because people just won't bother with a site they don't think is worth it. Many people like to make their videos flashy, but I have found that a simple, clean approach with a song playing in the background (to hold interest) works much, much better. Here's an example video which I am currently using to promote my youripodtouch4free link. It's simple but I haven't promoted the video outside of a link to my youtube page in forum signatures and I've received a couple referrals from it since I've put it up so it is worth it.

Thinking Outside the Box

The best way to get referrals is to present your link in way different from the hundreds of others trying to get referrals. There's a bunch of ways you can do this, but I'll just hint at one that is incredibly easy to do and the rest of the nation will do your promoting for you. Have you ever seen a dollar bill with a face drawn on it or the words wheresgeorge.com on it? Why can't that be your referral link? Sure it's technically defacement of government property, but if you get fined for it, you'd be the first person I've heard of.

Join Forums

Forums are a great way to expose your link, but make sure you follow the rules of the forum. If they only allow links in a certain section only post them there. Be respectful and build up a good reputation because annoying senior members will get you nowhere. If you make everyone think you're a jerk they will just ignore your future posts and they definitely won't even consider helping you out with your sites. If you're trying to do freebbie sites or you want to get in to the freebie site game I would suggest checking out this new freebie forum. They're just starting out which means you can get in on the ground floor and start building a good reputation from the start. They do referrals through a conga line system (you can find my youripodtouch4free conga here) and since they are new that means in most cases you could be next in line for a conga that you sign up for. Definitely worth taking a few minutes to at least check out.

How I Started My Online Income

As I mentioned previously, I started building my internet income with only a $30 investment. I was able to turn this first investment into $300 in just couple of weeks. Don't believe me? Well here's proof of the payment from Transcendent Innovations. Trainn runs all kinds of sites that require you to do an offer and then refer some people to receive your reward. These rewards range from DVD recorders to iPods to plain old cash through paypal.

I'm sure if you're reading this site you're looking for help in starting your own income with the internet. If you're willing to put some effort in and make deals with people for referrals, focusing on one of Trainn's sites is probably the quickest way to get started. On my first Trainn site I offered each potential referral $5 for signing up and doing a referral. The easier referral sites will only cost you $2 to sign up, these sites are Amazing Web Stores, eAuction Tutor, Yahoo Success Center, Increase My Margin, and a few others. By doing this you help your referrals by both paying for the offer they must complete and paying for their first referrals offer to get them started. Now you may be asking yourself, "How am I supposed to get my 7 referrals to get my $350 from that site?" Well there are many ways to go about this. You can sign up on getref.com through a link in one of my previous posts and begin making a reputation there, you can make a youtube video advertising your referral link and how to complete the site, you could make your own blog detailing your first foray into internet money making with a post about that site as your first venture, etc. The only limit to ideas for getting referrals is your own imagination and ingenuity.

The great part about completing one of these sites as your first project is that you are already $315 into profit which you can use to start quickly building other sites like I have. I will detail what I have done with this money in future posts to start building my income streams, but until then all your comments, questions, and criticisms are greatly appreciated.

Is a Cup of Coffee Worth $2.5 million?

There's one thing you will always have to remember about everything in life and that is that "there ain't no such thing as a free lunch" which is a phrase popularized by Robert Heinlein. Everything program has cost me something, be it time, money, or both. These prices do come with their rewards, though, in the form of rewards, cash, and a network of like minded people. With that being said, I'd like to jump ahead into a program I have just recently started before I talk about the "free" offer sites that I used to get my start in making money online. This program is called Work For 3 Dollars (WF3D).

Simply put, WF3D is a forced matrix system in which you pay to get in and then you receive money for referring people into your matrix. However, this program is different then other programs of it's kind in that you only need to refer 3 people to fill your direct referral line as opposed to others that require as many as 9 referrals to start making a profit. WF3D is a forced 3 x 15 matrix which means you will get paid for 15 levels of referrals but only need to refer 3 yourself, then they refer 3, then those refer 3, and so on and so forth. Being a forced matrix also means that if your upline has already done their 3 referrals, any additional referrals will spill over into empty slots in their downlines' referrals. You will get paid for these referrals that spill over into your matrix.

Along with a very easy to complete and promote program, WF3D offers several eBooks for your use. I have only taken a look at one of the eBooks so far, but even that one book brought up all kinds of marketing tips and strategies that I had never thought of before. That book alone is worth WF3D's entrance fee if not more because I am sure I'll be able to turn around and apply those ideas to my other programs.

As a member you will earn $1.00 for each referral in your 1st level and $0.12 for every referral beyond that. In addition, each person you refer grants you an additional $0.50. Here's a little snippet from Wf3D's website to show you your earning potential:

Viral Networks

There's not much I can say about Viral Networks at the moment as they have just started their prelaunch festivities a few days ago. What does this mean for you? It means you can get yourself in on the ground floor of what looks to be the next big site for generating a working downline to make yourself some steady cash. Oh! Did I mention you could win an iPod Touch, iMac, or some other cool stuff from their prelaunch contest if you register now?

Anyway here's what I can tell you about Viral Networks. Viral Networks is a social networking site (think youtube, myspace, facebook, etc.) that is aimed at the internet marketer. Users can post videos, post comments, post in forums, and do all kinds of other things that will award them points. These points can be used to purchase advertisements and other services on the site. Think of being rewarded for networking... twice. I mentioned in "Getting Started With Internet Income" that networking is a huge part of being successful, well these guys are setting up a great site for you to network on and get added rewards for networking. It's a win-win.

Getref: The Tried and True Referral System, Part 3

Getref is a robust site for finding referrals and besides earning and spending there is still some more information you should know.

Gold Membership

If you plan to do any serious earning or promoting you should purchase a gold membership. This membership will only cost you $5 and lasts for one month. With this membership you will earn twice as much as a regular member when joining a program plus an additional $0.05 which will help you accumulate credits quicker. You will also receive more credits if you choose to purchase them with cash. A gold membership will also help your promoting because it will allow you to ban problem users from your programs or even enforce a 5 rating minimum to join your programs which prevents the majority of scammers. In addition to the ability to ban members, a gold brick will be displayed by your name which makes you look a little bit more reputable.

Regular Member Scam Protection

There is not much in the way of scam protection for the regular member besides familiarizing yourself with the scammer list on the forum and avoiding promoter's with low ratings. However if you have a promoter's rating of 11 or above you are able to deny a scammer's credit request who has a rating of 2 or less without being penalized.

The Forums... Use Them

As I have previously mentioned, internet money is made through networking. Register on the forums and start getting involved. Build up a reputation for yourself as a respectable member and there is a greater chance that someone will join your program over a lesser known member.

Getref: The Tried and True Referral System, Part 2

In this post I'll cover the spending part of Getref which will help you to receive referrals for the programs of your choice. There are two ways to spend your credits, you can either buy exposures for your link or offer a certain amount of credits for a user to join your program.

Buying Exposures

Buying exposures for your link will not guarantee you any type of return on your investment, except for the fact that users will view the link you posted for 15 seconds. You will enter your URL, a title for the page, and a brief description of the site. Then you will specify how many credits you would like to invest and how many credits a user will get per view. After this, your link will be posted in the Earn Credits by Clicking Links earn section which is arranged by the number of credits a user receives for viewing the link.

Buying Referrals

The word "buying" here is a misnomer. You will not instantly receive a referral by "buying" referrals. Through this method you will make an offer of how ever many credits you want to pay for someone to join your program. The maximum you can offer is 60 credits. A gold member will receive the maximum amount you offer, while a regular member will only receive half of what you offer. You'll see the highest offering programs listed as offering 30 credits on the earn page, which means they are offering 60 credits total as the earn page shows the regular member rate. After setting an offer you will enter your referral id (test your link to make sure it works) and a program description in which you give info about the program and about what the user must do to receive credits. When a user joins your program they will request credit which you have 72 hours to approve. If you have not approved or denied them by then they will be able to force the transaction and receive the credits, so make sure you keep an eye on your pending transactions and whether they have fulfilled the requirements.

Getref: The Tried and True Referral System, Part 1

Getref has been a blessing to some and a bane to others. Well what I should say is that Getref is a blessing to those who care to learn how it works and have some patience, and a bane to those that expect instant results without even reading a FAQ. I'm going to try and relay to you all the lessons I've learned through using Getref and hopefully save you the the problem of having to learn these lessons yourself. For all intents and purposes Getref is made up of two parts: Earning credits to spend on referrals for your programs and Spending earned credits on your programs.

Earn

The earn section of Getref offers you three options which I will cover separately:

Earn Credits by Joining a Program
Earn Credits by Clicking Links
Earn Credits by Referring Members to Getref

Earn Credits by Joining a Program

This is the earn option that is the most important to your success. Not only because it will yield the most credits, but the programs you invest credits in to advertise are only visible within 90 days of completing another member's offer. This policy helps keep the site community active by encouraging members to be both earners and promoters. On this earn page you will see every program that has credits invested in it divided up by category. After selecting a program you will be taken to a page listing the credit amount offered, name, and ratings of every member promoting that program. The most important thing to note here is the ratings. You will want to sign up under a member with a high promoter's rating even if that means receiving a few less credits because this will greatly reduce your chance of being scammed. After selecting the promoter you will do the offer for make sure to read their description and follow their instructions to receive credit.

Earn Credits by Clicking Links

The purpose of this section of the site is mainly to increase your chance of receiving tickets for the monthly prize drawing from which you can win both a few months as a gold member for free and some cash. Aside from that, this section has an incredibly low credit yield, but you are more likely to receive the random tickets when viewing the ads here.

Earn Credits by Referring Members to Getref

Just as it says, share your referral link and earn credits from those members you refer. You will receive 10% of all the credits your referrals earn through joining programs up to 5 levels deep. Also you will receive a 2 credit bonus from the first program any of your direct referrals join.

Getting Started With Internet Income

Alright so most of us on the internet today have probably heard of all those freebie sites or get paid to click sites. Some of us have probably even visited them and maybe tried them out for a little bit. The problem is most people get discouraged thinking, "How am I supposed to get 10 referrals to get my reward?" or "How will I reach the minimum payout of $10.00 when they only give me a penny per ad?" The solution, networking.

To be successful with these sites you have to network. You'll never achieve anything noteworthy on a PTC site by yourself; that $10.00 minimum will just take too long to reach. Similarly, there is no way you can get 10 referrals without making friends with like-minded individuals or offering some incentive.

So here are two steps that should be taken to get yourself started making money with the internet, and they're both free so you have nothing to lose:

1. Get a Paypal and an Alertpay account. The site I received the initial return on my investment from paid out through Paypal, however the sites that I then invested this money in to develop an income stream all pay out through Alertpay. The Alertpay account becomes key when the referral stream for the Paypal using sites is a little slow, you want to keep making money don't you?

2. Join sites to facilitate the referral process. Most notably these would be Getref, Viral Networks, and I even lump WorkFor3Dollars (it is essentially a paid list builder). I will make individual posts later detailing the use of these two sites to help out those newer to the process, but I would highly recommend at least joining Viral Networks now as they are in a prelaunch phase and are sponsoring some great contests with some very nice prizes.

Hello World!

So I figure with this being the first post of the blog, I should probably give a little info about myself and what I plan to accomplish with this blog.

For starters, my name is Brandon and I'm 20 years old. I'm currently a college student pursuing a Computer Science degree (hence the generic "Hello World!" title). I'm employed at Jimmy Johns, probably the only fast food place where you can work and still enjoy the food when you aren't working. I enjoy doing normal college student things like going to concerts, watching movies, listening to music, and spending time with friends.

These activities cost money though and that's an issue I plan to address somewhat with this blog. People always talk about how they make money with the internet, but nobody ever shows how they do it (that is without first charging you an arm and a leg). I'll show you how I started a fairly consistent income stream from the internet with only a $30 investment and leveraging my return on that investment. Hopefully if you find this interesting you'll help me by helping yourself.
